Two weeks ago, Ami from Walking by the Way, contacted me to see if I would review a Mixing Bowl Academy class offered through Currclick.  The Lil' Chefs class was a live, online cooking class for kids, and it was a blast!  We made a delicious strawberry smoothie!

All of the supplies and ingredients were emailed to me a week in advance, and I was sent a link to watch the live video when it aired.  Fun!

I set out all of our ingredients in advance and even measured out a few things before the class began.  With a 2 year old and a 4 month old in the house, I was trying to plan for interruptions!  I'm glad that I had everything out and ready so that we could keep up with the class.  The class was well paced, but because I was taking pictures, wearing my 4 month old in the Baby Bjorn (like this), and trying to help Rachel, we would've gotten behind if I hadn't been prepared.

On the live video, Rachel thought it was neat that a child her age was doing the cooking.  Rachel was able to follow along and do most of the steps herself with minimal help from me (perfect!).  I also liked that there was a chat box for Sandie, the instructor, to interact with the participating Moms.  She gave us ideas about how to make the smoothie even more healthy by adding in some flax seed oil if desired.

It was a great experience and only about 20 minutes in length.  The smoothie was delicious (seriously yummy) and Rachel was really proud of herself.  I liked the fact that I had an "appointment" to participate in the live class.  As a busy Mom, sometimes cute little activities like this fall by the wayside, but because we were enrolled in the class, I was intentional about making sure we did it and had everything we needed.

I would definitely recommend a Mixing Bowl Academy class to anyone!
